Terms of use

Plain terms for a free site: it gives you information and its working, not advice about your situation.

General information, not advice

Everything on Bizroo is general information. It is not tax, financial, accounting or legal advice, and it takes no account of your circumstances, because it does not know them. Nothing here creates a client relationship of any kind.

Australian tax and workplace rules turn on facts a calculator cannot see — how an entity is structured, what was actually agreed, what a supply really is. For anything that matters, a registered tax agent, BAS agent or lawyer is worth the fee. That is not boilerplate; it is the honest limit of what a web page can do.

Accuracy, and how to check it

Every figure on this site is read from a primary source — the legislation on the Federal Register of Legislation, or the authority’s own published material — and each page names the provisions and pages it relies on, with the dates they were current. The engines are pinned by automated tests to the sources’ own worked examples, and where something could not be verified it is left out rather than hedged.

That is a real standard, and it is still not a guarantee. Rates change, regulations are amended, and a page can be out of date between one verification and the next. Where a figure matters to a decision you are making, check it against the source named on the page — the links are there for exactly that. The methodology page sets out the method in full, including what is deliberately not modelled.

Documents you generate

The invoice, payslip and quote generators build documents in your browser from what you type. The compliance checks test what is on the document against the requirements named on each page; they cannot test whether what you typed is true, and no document produced here is certified or approved by any authority — for tax invoices and payslips, no form is prescribed, so there is nothing to certify against. You are responsible for the documents you issue.

Liability

Bizroo is provided free and as is. To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for loss arising from use of the site or reliance on anything published here. Nothing in these terms excludes any right you have under the Australian Consumer Law that cannot lawfully be excluded.

Using the content

You are welcome to use the calculators for your own business, to print the documents they produce, and to quote figures and tables from these pages — a link back is appreciated and helps other people find the source. Reproducing whole pages, or copying the site wholesale, is not permitted. Legislation quoted here is Commonwealth material and carries its own terms.

Advertising

Advertising pays for this site. It never influences a calculation, a figure, or what the site says about anything. Bizroo is independent: it is not owned by an accounting software company, a bookkeeping firm or a lender, and it does not sell leads.

Corrections

If a figure here is wrong it should be fixed, not defended. The contact page says how to report one, and corrections are genuinely welcome — they are the fastest way this site gets better.
